Toshiba is so into the 3D laptop craze that they decided to come up with another glasses-free model. The Toshiba Satellite P855 is a 15.6-inch laptop that uses lenticular technology, which uses a webcam to adjust the 3D effect to the user’s head movements, for that 3D-like viewing experience. This is the same technology being used to other Toshiba 3D laptops.
The device is cased in a textured aluminum chassis and from the outside we could see four USB 3.0 ports, HDMI out, Intel WiDi for direct WiFi beaming of 1080p video to a larger screen, and Harmon Kardon speakers. As for the insides, the Toshiba PR guys cannot disclose it yet, even the memory and storage. What they can spill is that the device is geared for mainstream 3D gaming and Blu-ray loving consumers.
Although the price tag remains hush-hush, we can predict the Toshiba Satellite P855 would start at £599 (about US$940). Release date is expected to be within Q2 of this year.
